Dichtbij dingen is a film made with close up images of domestic objects. By reversing the lens, intricate details become apparent on their surfaces. The camera slowly moves through textures of the skin, shells and burning paper and they start to look like otherworldly, alien landscapes. The film is a meandering journey through these intimate terrains, unveiling cycles of life and death, growth and decay. In close proximity, I find a lexicon born from the poetry of the overlooked.
